Big Sky Airlines was a regional airline based in Billings, Montana. The airline operated from 1978 to 2008. At its peak, the airline served over 30 destinations in the Western United States. In 2008, Big Sky Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and subsequently ceased all operations. The airline was known for providing small aircraft service to smaller communities, often using turboprop planes such as the Beechcraft 1900 and the Saab 340. Big Sky Airlines was owned by MAIR Holdings.
